Who Is Crescent Moon Shelties? Crescent Moon Shelties is a kennel located in Connecticut and New York dedicated to preserving and promoting the original Shetland Sheepdog. We exhibit our dogs in Conformation and Obedience and will soon be training for Therapy.  Our breeding program strives for health, temperament, appearance, and quality. Our dogs are regularly health-tested. Our puppies are socialized with large dogs, horses, birds, and small animals, and are ready to explore the world! 
What Is The Original Shetland Sheepdog? The older-style Shetland Sheepdogs (or Shetland Collies, as the breed was originally named) were graceful and elegant in shape, had a long, Collie-like snout, and relatively long, slim legs. Their temperament was excitable (after all, they were herding dogs!), but judging from our dog Ariel (pictured above at 13 months), they were bright, very sweet and a lot of fun.
 Unfortunately this style of Sheltie has become rare, and the goal of Crescent Moon Shelties is to reintroduce it as far as we are able.
